Illustrator Tasha Tudor will be in Provo next month as a guest of the McCurdy Doll Museum. Tudor will give a presentation in the Provo Tabernacle Oct. 9 at 2 p.m., followed by a reception and autographing session at the museum, 246 N. First East.
Her enchanting, accurately detailed portrayals of New England rural scenes in a simpler time have endeared Tudor to generations of readers. Her first book, "Pumpkin Moonshine," was published in 1938, and she has produced an average of a book a year since that time. The illustrator lives in Vermont in a farmhouse her son built from her design, where she combines tasks of her rustic lifestyle with creative endeavors.The McCurdy Museum currently has Tudor books and other items for sale in the Museum Shop, and her books, drawings, and memorabilia will be available at the rear entrance to the Tabernacle as registration begins at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 9.
