Former first lady Imelda Marcos said in a television interview aired Wednesday that she would consider running for Philippine president next year if the people demand it.
"The presidency is a matter of destiny," the widow of former President Ferdinand Marcos said in the Philippine TV interview."It is not that you are open to it, there is nothing you can do about it. If destiny comes to fore, you just don't argue, just get on top of it, as Marcos would say," she said, referring to her late husband.
Imelda was a powerful human settlements minister and governor of metropolitan Manila before her husband was ousted in a civilian- backed military revolt in 1986.
