A pair of LDS missionaries serving in the Argentina-Trelew Mission died Friday from asphyxiation while they slept.

Elders Royce Harold Durrant, 20, of St. George and Ronnie Lopez Ayala, 19, of Santa Ana, Calif., were both found dead in their apartment in the town of Rawson after failing to appear at a zone conference.Their deaths were apparently caused by a natural-gas leak in a kitchen stove while they slept, according to church spokesman Don LeFevre.

Durrant is the son of Harold Leon and Bonita Terry Durrant of the St. George 4th LDS Ward.
