Although most of its habitues hardly own up to it, a few will proudly say that "I spent the night in the Davis County Jail."

As part of the opening and dedication ceremonies of the county's new $20 million justice complex in west Farmington, invited guests will be able to spend a night in one of the jail's 400 beds the evening of Friday, May 31.The guests - who will pay $25 for the privilege - will check in at 7 p.m. and spend the night, said corrections division Sgt. Dan Horton.

Public tours of the new complex will be held 1-9 p.m. Monday through Friday, May 20-24.

At noon Wednesday, May 15, dedication of the Davis County Peace Officer Memorial will be held. The memorial, with a monument, plaque and three flagpoles, is under construction in the circular driveway in front of the complex.
