Two former deputies who were recently suspended by Sheriff Ed Phillips have pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor criminal charges related to misconduct.

Charges were filed against Glen P. Quarnberg and David A. Allen by the Millard County attorney following an investigation by the Utah Department of Corrections.Phillips requested the independent investigation after an inquisition at the sheriff's department indicated the two deputies might have been guilty of misconduct.

Quarnberg was charged with one count of lewdness, one of official misconduct and one of aiding and abetting fornication. Allen was charged with two counts of lewdness and one of official misconduct.
