A South Jordan man who pleaded guilty to sexually molesting a teenage girl after breaking into her home has been placed on 36 months probation.
Third District Judge Kenneth Rigtrup also ordered 47-year-old Joel Quinn to pay a $1,000 fine, restitution to the victim and her family and directed him to undergo counseling.Quinn originally was charged with two counts of second-degree felony burglary and two counts of third-degree felony attempted forcible sexual abuse in two different break-ins last year.
As part of a plea bargain, he pleaded guilty to one count of attempted forcible sexual abuse, punishable by zero to five years at the state prison. The other counts were dismissed.
In one of the break-ins, a man pried off a window screen and grabbed at a 15-year-old girl in her bed. The other incident occurred when a man entered a home and began masturbating in the presence of a 16-year-old girl.
