Seven schools in the Millard County School District have received more than $18,000 for special projects. Half of the amount comes through the state's "Incentive for Excellence" program, the other half through local contributions.
Six schools have also applied for unappropriated funds that may be available for reallocation.Cooperative efforts of school administrators, the staff, students and parent-teacher associations were needed to raise matching funds for the incentive program to buy video cameras, VCRs, computers, software and exercise and playground equipment.
The schools and amounts received in initial funding are Delta Middle School, $4,223; Delta North Elementary, $4,000; Delta South Elementary, $3,400; Fillmore Middle School, $3,059; Delta High School, $1,800; Garrison School, $1,000; and Fillmore Elementary, $700.
Schools that have applied for reallocated incentive funds and the amounts are Delta Middle School, $4,604; Fillmore Middle School, $3,794; Delta North Elementary, $2,500; Delta South Elementary, $2,400; Fillmore Elementary, $1,000; and Millard High School, amount not determined.
