A Salt Lake man whose brother was killed after their car hit a tree Saturday remained in critical condition Monday.

Israel Duran, 27, was driving a car east on 300 South about 5:20 p.m. Saturday when it veered to the left, jumped a curb at 600 East and struck a tree.The impact ejected Mario Duran, 21, who died at the scene. Israel Duran was taken to LDS Hospital, where he was in critical condition Monday, said a spokeswoman.
