The Franklin International Institute is adding 60,000 square-feet to its distribution center in the second of four phases of expansion, which will be completed in February 1992.

During Monday's groundbreaking, Franklin president Arlen W. Crouch said, "We have experienced unprecedented growth during the last year, and require additional space to accommodate distribution of Franklin Day Planners and other products to customers around the world."He said the new space will be added to an existing 40,000-square-foot building. When the fourth phase is completed in three or four years, the company will have 250,000 square feet of distribution space.

Franklin also will expand its original building, turning the former administration building into a communication facility. Crouch anticipates a June groundbreaking for the 24,000-square-foot expansion with completion in 11 months.

Architect for the two expansion programs is MHT Architects. C & A Construction Co., Springville, is the contractor for the distribution facility expansion. A contractor for the other project will be announced later.
