BYU secured a berth in the Western Athletic Conference Tournament by sweeping a Colorado State on Saturday, 3-1 and 8-0.

The Cougars locked up the berth in the one-hour and forty-five minute rain-delayed opener. Pitching, defense and the two-run homer by John Wagner in the third inning aided the 3-1 victory.Starting pitcher Rob Jensen allowed three hits, struck out five rams and walked zero batters to improve his record to 9-4. Reliever John Vandenburg came in during the sixth inning after the rain delay and allowed no bases on balls to secure his first save of the season.

In the nightcap Wagner scored the first run in the third inning.

BYU is now 34-13 overall and 16-7 in the WAC, while CSU finishes the season at 18-39 and 5-20. BYU's next game is Thursday at Honolulu.
