The Utah Public Health Association is sponsoring "The Power of Resolutions and Parliamentary Procedures," a May 13 workshop designed to help translate ideas into laws.

The workshop will be held from noon to 4:30 p.m. at the State Capitol.Utah House of Representatives Majority Leader Rob Bishop, R-Box Elder, will conduct the workshop with his Brigham City High School debate students.

The topic of Bishop's workshop will be: "Using resolutions and parliamentary procedures to bring about social change." Training sessions will focus on writing resolutions and using parliamentary procedure. Participants will then debate their resolutions using parliamentary procedure in the Utah House of Representatives chambers.

Advance registration is $10 for public health association members, $15 for non-members and $5 for students. Proceeds from the workshop will help provide scholarships for Brigham City High School students.
