Dorothy Kimball Olson, our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, died May 10, 1991 from a stroke.

She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Elias Smith Kimball and Luella Whitney. Married the late Laine Monroe Olson on July 6, 1941 in Salt Lake City. She was a professional ballet dancer in her youth and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in education. She belonged to the Phi Mu Sorority. She taught remedial reading in the Santa Monica School District in California and volunteered service in the California Teachers Association and PTA. She was President of the Association of Childhood Education, Director of the International Reading Association, and President of the Pilot Club. When she and her husband retired to Salt Lake she became active in the Ballet West Guild, PMT Guild, Salt Lake Womens Council, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Utah Opera Guild, and the Assistance League of Utah. She was an active member in the LDS Church.Mrs. Olson is survived by Dorothy and Stephen Collins and children Christeen and Michael; and Julie Carlson and children Ammon, Benjamin, and Jason.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 14th, at 1 PM, Ensign Stake Center, 589 - 18th Avenue. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Monday evening 6-8 PM, and at the Stake Center, one hour prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
