Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Eliza Holley
Groneman, age 92, passed away peacefully May 11, 1991, in Salt Lake City.Eliza Holley was born January 31, 1899, in Scofield Utah, and raised in Mapleton, Utah, the daughter of William Ingram and Sarah Catherine Fuller Holley. She married Earl Rose Groneman Sr. on June 21, 1922 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Member LDS Church, served a mission to the Western States 1919-21. Also served a mission with her husband to the Independence, Missouri Visitor Center, 1971. Held many Church leadership positions.
Retired employee of the Auerbach Company. President of PTA for many years. Member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Eliza was kind, loving, and devoted to her family, friends and church. Her passing saddens our hearts but makes us all appreciate the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Rose Groneman Sr., of Salt Lake City, three sons and one daughter, Earl Jr. (wife Alice), Murray, Holley B. (wife Diane), Salt Lake, George S. (wife Meredith), Bountiful, Adele E. (husband Kenneth) Truscott, Salt Lake, 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters, James (wife Jessie), Norma Mackenzie, Sarah (husband Allen C.) Randle. Preceded in death by one grandchild, her parents, four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 14, 1991, 12:00 noon, at the Valley View Fourth Ward, 2125 East Evergreen Ave. (3425 South), with Bishop Albert L. Fisher officiating. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Funeral Chapel.
