Inez Maxine Muhlestein Conrad, 58, passed away peacefully Monday evening at her home in Kalispell, Montana, following a prolonged confrontation with cancer.

She was born February 19, 1933 in Provo, Utah to John Wilford and Inez Wilde Muhlestein. She married Paul Willard Conrad March 4, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Provo, Utah until 1965; in Logan, Utah, until 1971; in Missoula, Montana, until 1976 and in Kalispell, Montana until her death.Maxine was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was an accomplished pianist and organist. She played for many church services, funerals, and programs and accompanied numerous soloists, groups, and choirs. She loved to raise flowers as well as harvest and preserve vegetables and berries from the garden at the family home. She has been employed by Flathead County as an Office Assistant III for Area IX Agency on Aging since July, 1985.

Survivors include her husband, Kalispell Mont.; three daughters and two sons, Pauline Garyson, Salt Lake City, Utah; Michelle Ungerman, San Jose, California; Mark P. Conrad, Panama City, Florida; Melanie Marrott, Provo, Utah; and Shawn M. Conrad, West Valley City, Utah; three brothers, Donald W. Muhlestein, Payson, Utah; Richard D. Muhlestein, Fruit Heights, Utah; and Steven K. Muhlestein, Orem, Utah; one grandson and two step grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Joyce Muhlestein.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 10, 1991, at 10:10 at the LDS Chapel on Buffalo Hill in Kalispell, Montana. Another viewing will be held at Berg Mortuary 185 East Center, in Provo, Utah, on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday 10 am., one hour prior to graveside services which will be held in the Provo City Cemetery at 11 a.m.
