A 29-year-old Layton man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly leading law officers on a high-speed chase that ended when he rammed into a police car at a West Valley City roadblock.
The man was booked into Davis County Jail for investigation of aggravated assault on a police officer, possession of cocaine and evading. He is scheduled for arraignment Friday in Bountiful Circuit Court, said Woods Cross Police Chief Paul Howard.Howard said the incident began at 1:05 a.m. when a Woods Cross officer stopped to check on a man sitting in a car. The officer said he observed a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia in the car.
The man, whose identity was not released, then sped away, Howard said.
