Private family graveside services for Reed C. Culp Sr., education and civic leader, will be held Saturday in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
Mr. Culp, 85, who was president of Kiwanis International in the 1950s, a member of what was then known as the University of Utah Board of Regents and a member of the Salt Lake City Library Board, died Thursday, May 8, 1991, in Salt Lake City.In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Intermountain Unit of Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children or Utah Boys Ranch.
Mr. Culp was born June 22, 1905, in Scottsville, Kan. He was president of the Salt Lake Kiwanis Club, a member of El Kalah Shrine Temple, was a 32-degree Mason and a member of Progress Lodge, York Rite, Scottish Rite Bodies and the Red Cross of Constantine.
He was a partner and owner with his brothers and later with his sons of Culp & Sons Sheep Co. Mr. Culp was named to the national board of Boys Clubs of America and was appointed to the Salt Lake Mayor's Committee on Juvenile Delinquency.
