BYU's 12th-ranked women's tennis team lost to eighth-ranked Arizona in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Thursday. The Cougars were down 4-1 in singles, with freshman Federica Lentini battling Wildcat Danielle Kluman at No. 5 singles. A win would give the Cougars life by forcing doubles play. A loss would end the match. Lentini pulled out the 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 victory, but the Wildcats swept doubles 3-0 for a 7-2 victory.
BYU freshman Evica Koljanin in singles and Koljanin and freshman Sarah Mugnaini in doubles will play in next week's individual championships.
