George Carol Provstgard, age 85, died May 9, 1991 at his home in Salt Lake City.

Born September 20, 1905 in Payson, Utah, son of Christain and Mary Louise Cowan Provstgaard. He married Doris Elizabeth Lewis; she died. Married Elva M. Sudweeks; She died March 3, 1982. Married Lucy Edens April 23, 1982. Active member of the LDS Church served as a counselor in the High Priest group of the 29th Ward. His greatest pride and joy was his family. His interests were his friends, food, fishing, hunting and out-of-doors. He was one of the first excavating and trucking contractors in the valley and was the first to place imported gravel fill on Wendover Air Force Base. He worked with his son Lewis until his retirement.Survived by his wife Lucy, Salt Lake City; children, George Lewis Provstgard; Joyce P. Smith; Anne P. Cluff, all Bountiful; Donna P. Archbold, Salt Lake City; the children of Alva Sudweeks and Lucy Eden; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Nell McGreggor, Payson; brothers Donald, Payson; Merl, SaltLake City.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 13, 1991 at 12 noon in the Riverside Stake Center, 1100 West 500 North, Salt Lake City. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Monday at the church 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
