LaVar Sylvester North returned to his Heavenly Father (and earthly parents who preceded him in death), Thursday, May 9th, 1991.

He was born July 13, 1944 in Midway, Utah, the son of Wallace and Wanda Hunt North. He was 46 years young. He married Francyne Poulter on Aug. 17, 1972 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Their love and marriage will last for eternity. Employed at U.S. West for 22 years as an engineering specialist. He was well liked and respected by his fellow workers for his ability and work ethics. LaVar was a High Priest in the LDS Church and held many positions. His greatest enjoyment was his service to his fellow men. He was gifted in carpentry and other related trades. He was a perfectionist in all he did.He is survived by his wife and their three sons, Jordan Allen, 15; Mark Andrew, 13; and Kelly Ryan, 11; also by two daughters, Stephanie Martine, 25; and Lisa Christine, 24; by a previous marriage. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Linda Mitchell, Bonnie Malcolm, Arthur, Sheila, Sherman, LaMar, Lloyd, Randy, and Ronnie North.

He lived for his wife and children and they will survive well with the knowledge that he is gone to prepare an eternal home for them. He was seldom seen without his family. They often spent their free time camping and snow mobiling.

Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, May 12, 6-8 p.m., at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 14, 12 noon, Cannon 9th Ward Chapel, 1250 West 1400 South, where friends may call from 11-11:45 am. Burial in Sandy, at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
