Alice Mortensen Jarvis, 83, formerly of Palmyra, passed away Thursday, May 9, 1991 in Lewisville, Texas, at her daughters home, where she has been residing until her death.

She was born February 17, 1906 in Palmyra, the daughter of Niels Christain and Martha Christopherson Mortensen. She received her education in Spanish Fork schools. She married John D. (Jack) Jarvis, March 28, 1928 in Provo; their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He passed away on February 7, 1972.She was member of the LDS Church, served in the Primary and Relief Society, and was also a visiting teacher. She served as a Pink Lady.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lynn E. (Janice) Anderson, Ogden; Mrs. C.L. (Helen) Henline, Lewisville, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Dell Mortensen, Springville. She was preceded in death in death by a son, Allan Jarvis, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 13, 11 a.m., in the Palmyra LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork, Sunday evening, 6-8 p.m. or Monday at the ward Relief Society room, one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
