Alden L. Heap, age 77, died Wednesday, May 8, 1991.
He was born April 20, 1914 in Parowan, Utah to Lellon and Lillian Lowe Heap. He married Grace Lucille Flinders, March 31, 1934, Parowan, Utah; she preceded him in death May 23, 1979. Married Leah Robeson, November 1, 1979, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Reared and educated in Parowan, Utah, Mr. Heap has also lived in Salt Lake City, Cedar City and in Las Vegas, before moving to Hurricane, Utah in 1975. An active member of the LDS Church, he has served in many positions of teaching and leadership. He held the office of High Priest. He enjoyed dancing, tripping, and was an avid fisherman. He was a much beloved husband, father and stepfather.Surviving family members include his wife, Leah, Hurricane, Utah; two sons and two daughters, Donald Alden Heap and David Lynn Heap, both of Bountiful; Barbara Lillian Douglas, Arcadia, California; Launa Rae Herman, Centerville, Utah; stepchildren, Vivian Gamble, Vernal, Utah; George M. Lamoreaux, Cedar City, Utah; Kathryn Baker Greenwood, St. George, Utah; Miriam Cochran, Mapleton, Utah; 33 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five sisters and three brothers, Maurine Heap Parry, Irene Heap Bryant and Thora Heap Crofts, all of Cedar City, Utah; Ruth Heap Fender, Garden Grove, California; Lois Jean Heap Eastman, West Valley City, Utah; Theran Heap, Cedar City, Utah; Larry Heap and Robert Heap, both of North Highlands, Calif.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 11, 1991, 2 p.m., Hurricane LDS Stake Center, 677 South 700 West. Friends may call Friday evening 7-8 p.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 West, St. George Blvd., and Saturday 12-1:30 p.m. at the Stake Center. Interment will be in the Wasatch Lawn Cemetery, Monday, May 13, 1991, 11 a.m. under the direction of the Metcalf Mortuary.
