Detlef S. Dlugas, age 34, died Thursday, May 9, 1991, at his residence.

He was born March 25, 1957 in Berlin, Germany, to Sigmund E. and Eleonore E. Lenz Dlugas. He married Cindy Lee Romijn, August 3, 1985, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Dlugas moved from Germany to the United States in 1965. He graduated from Hill Crest High School in 1975 and lived in West Jordan before coming to St. George in 1987. He was a General Contractor and owner-operator of Door City in St. George. He was an active member of the business community in Salt Lake and St. George. He was an active member of the LDS Church, where he served in many positions. He loved his family and the times they spent together boating and enjoying the outdoors. He in turn is loved deeply by his family for his love, strength and courage. Beloved father, son, brother, husband and friend, we will miss you.Surviving family members include his wife, Cindy, St. George; one daughter and one son, Jennifer Ann Dlugas, age 13 and Jayson Detlef Dlugas, age 3, both of St. George; parents, Sigmund and Eleanore Dlugas, Sandy City, Utah; grandparent, Elfriede Lenz, Inglostadt, Germany; one sister and one brother, Ela Jensen, Springville, Utah; Ralph O. Dlugas, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 13, 1991, 11 a.m., at the Bloomington LDS Third Ward Chapel, 3919 Manzantia Road. Friends may call at the Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., Sunday evening 7-8 p.m. and at the chapel Monday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment: St. George City Cemetery, under the direction of the Metcalf Mortuary.
