Arvel Charles Reese, 84, of Benson, died Wednesday morning, May 8, 1991, at the Logan Nursing Center of causes incident to age.
He was born September 9, 1906 in Benson, Utah, the son of William Griffiths and Karen Andrea Andersen Reese. He married Gene Heninger on July 8, 1931 in the Logan LDS Temple. A life-long resident of Benson. He was educated in the Cache County Schools and had attended Utah State University. He was a farmer by profession. He was active in his community and a member of the LDS Church.Survived by his wife of Benson; two sons and four daughters and their spouses, Mona Jean and Shirl Banting, Merilyn and Darrell Parkin, all of Bountiful; A. Carleton and Helen Reese, Linda and Perry Gillette, all of West Valley City; Kenton H. and Barta Reese, Benson; Louise and Martin Peterson, Hyde Park; 28 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters and their spouses, Roland and Alta Reese, Logan; Norma and Robert Reeder, Trenton; Lowell and Helen Reese, Benson; Ruth and Norman Dahle, Ogden; Cecil and Mae Reese, Kinston, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by seven sisters and brothers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 14, 1991, at 12 noon, in the Benson LDS Ward Chapel, 3432 North 3000 Wet, with Bishop Jerry M. Toombs conducting. Friends may call Monday evening, from 6-8 p.m. at Cranney Mortuary, 420 East 1800 North, in Logan, and at the church Tuesday morning from 10:30 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be in the Logan Cemetery.
