Esther Elizabeth Lund Cole, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away quietly on Wednesday, May 8, 1991 at the home of her daughter, Carol, in North Ogden. She was 83.

Esther was born on February 17, 1908 in Mayfield, Sanpete County, Utah. She was a daughter of Niels Lawrence Lund, Jr. and Annie Elizabeth Carlsen. She was married to Clarence Heber Cole, May 25, 1936 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Enjoying nearly 55 years of marriage. Together they built and operated the Four-Leaf Clover Restaurant in the Five Points area of Ogden.Together they had three sons and a daughter, Bruce C. Cole, Burke, Virginia; David H. Cole, deceased; Dr. Boyd N. Cole, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Gordon A. (Carol) North, North Ogden; 10 grandchildren, Aaron, Ryan and Andrew Cole; Lisa, Bryan and Michael North, Bonnie, Christina, Benjamin and Daniel Cole; two great-grandchildren; Kodee and Kade.

She was raised in Gunnison, Utah, later moving to Salt Lake City. She attended the University of Utah where she graduated with a State Normal Teaching Degree. Years later she graduated from the Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She was an educator and teacher for the Salt Lake City and Ogden City School Districts for 28 years. She was loved by her students and respected by her co-workers, having taught every grade from the Kindergarten through the 9th Grade. She retired in 1970. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Ogden 29th Ward. She had served as an organist in every organization, a counselor in the MIA, on the Sunday School Stake Board, Sunday School teacher, Ward Teacher Trainer, Sunday School Inservice Leader, Relief Society teacher, visiting teacher and many other positions. She was a very talented musician, sharing her gift of music with others throughout her life-time. She also enjoyed oil painting in her retired years.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence H. Cole, Ogden; two sons, Bruce C. Cole, Burke, Virginia; Dr. Boyd Neil Cole, Salt Lake City; daughter, Mrs. Gordon A. (Carol) North, North Ogden; one brother, Reed Lund, Sandy, Utah; one sister, Margaret Jefferson, Davidsonville, Maryland, 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by one son, David and three brother, Dewey Lund, Royal Lund, and Hugh Lund.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 11, 1991 at 11 a.m. at the Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Richard Brenchley of the 29th Ward officiating. Friends may call at the Mortuary, on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Gardens in Salt Lake City.
