Darrell Bailey Eakle, 62, native of Salt Lake City, died May 8, 1991, in Healdsburg, California.
Born July 5, 1928, in Salt Lake City to Barnabas B. and Ruth Ellen Bailey Eakle. He was a structural engineer and resided in Salt Lake City until 1970. Most recently he was an employee of FEMA, Federal Civil Service, where he had worked for 30 years as an engineer. He has resided in Sonoma County, California for 20 years. Served in U.S. Army during the occupation of Japan after World War II. Member LDS Church.Survivors: wife, Karen Laney Eakle, Santa Rosa, California; three children, Lanie and husband, Bob Gerber, Sacramento, California; Merritt and Wade Eakle, both Healdsburg, California; two grandchildren, Robert Gerber IV, Alexandra Gerber, both Sacramento, California; sisters and brothers, Elaine Jensen, LaVaun Harrison, Roy B. Eakle, all Utah; Raymond B. Eakle, Colorado; Donna Young, Montana; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services Monday, May 13, 1 p.m., Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Healdsburg Ward, where friends may call, 11 a.m. until services, in the Relief Society room at the church. Burial, Oak Mound Cemetery, Healdsburg. Funeral Directors: Fred Young & Co., 24 Matheson St., Healdsburg, CA 95448. Family suggests contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
