Our kind, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great- and great-great-grandfather, Emil Harold Frederik Johansen, age 96, passed away May 8, 1991, in Mayfield, Utah, of causes incident to age.

He was born February 27, 1895, in Bjerge, Denmark, a son of Hans and Helena Almina Hansen Johansen. He married Loa Arintha Taylor April 1, 1920, in the Manti LDS Temple. He lived the first 19 years of his life in Denmark with his family, until he joined the LDS Church and immigrated to Utah. He was a Veteran of World War I, serving with the 146th Spruce Squadron in Fort Lewis, Washington, from 1917 to 1919. He spent the rest of his working life as a farmer in Loa, Utah. He was a High Priest in the Loa LDS Ward, and has served as a high councilman, a bishop's counselor, Sunday School superintendent, teacher, home teacher, and he was a great and dedicated father and husband.Survived by: His wife, of Loa; three sons and three daughters, Arden T. Johansen, Ogden; Larry Johansen, Napa, Idaho; Harold Jr. Johansen, Huntsville; Owena Chappell, Lyman; Lella Vee Sisam, Sandy; Wana Lu Burr, Burrville; one brother, Hans Christian Johansen, Sacramento, Calif.; numerous grandchildren; great- and great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 11, 1991, 1 p.m., in the Loa, Utah LDS Stake Tabernacle, where friends may call for viewing 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial, with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92, will be in the Loa Cemetery, under the direction of the Springer-Turner Funeral Home.
