Raymond J. Noorda, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Novell Inc., has been elected chairman of the Utah Information Technologies Association's board of trustees, succeeding David C. Evans, co-founder of Evans & Sutherland, who helped found the association.

Noorda joined Novell in 1983 when the company had $3.8 million in revenue, which mushroomed to $497.5 million in 1990.
