Dr. Fred A. Ziter, professor of neurology at the University Medical Center died Wednesday, May 8, 1991, of leukemia. He was 57.

Dr. Ziter headed the Muscular Dystrophy Association Muscle Clinic since 1978. He was instrumental in conducting research projects into some 40 neuromuscular disorders. He operated the muscle clinic as a teaching facility, which helped advance knowledge of neuromuscular disease.He also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Utah school of physical therapy, where he trained physical therapy students in managing neuromuscular disease.
