Gary B. Peterson, noted Utah geographer and photographer, will present the final lecture of the Utah Valley Chapter of the Utah State Historical Society at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, in the multiporpose room of the Provo Public Library, 425 W. Center.
Peterson's lecture will include a slide presentation on the Tintic Mining District titled "Time Slices/Past Places" and will correspond with the June 1 field trip to the mining district.
Peterson was an editor of the "Atlas of Utah" and co-producer of "The Tintic Mining District." With Lowell C. Bennion, he was author and publisher of the national prize-winning "Sanpete Scenes: A Guide to Utah's Heart."
