Ken Ridd has been appointed the cash and financial services officer at the Salt Lake branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

He replaces Andrea Wolcott, who was recently promoted to vice president in charge of the Salt Lake branch.Ridd will oversee the cash operations, financial services and public information functions of the branch. The branch provides wholesale banking services to financial institutions in Utah, Idaho and eastern Nevada.

As the nation's central bank, the Federal Reserve System also formulates monetary policy, serves as a bank regulator, administers consumer protection laws and is fiscal agent for the U.S. government.

Ridd joined the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco at its Salt Lake branch in 1974. After serving a variety of staff positions, he was named manager of the branch's central adjustment department in 1979. Ridd also has been manager of the branch's accounting department and the check services department.
