The Price Savers Warehouse in Provo and sister stores throughout the state will be changing their name.

They will become PACE membership warehouses, part of a wholly owned subsidiary of K mart Corp. The name change will coincide with the opening of fresh foods departments in each of the Price Savers' warehouses.PACE acquired Price Savers Wholesale Inc., a Salt Lake City-based membership warehouse club, last December. Currently, 17 Price Savers warehouses operate in five Western states, with six locations in California, four each in Arizona and Utah, two in Washington and one in Alaska.

The program will be operating in all Price Savers locations by the end of the year. PACE's fresh foods program features fresh-cut meats, an on-site bakery and a large selection of fresh fruits and vegetables.

"Operating under one name will enable us, as a low-cost provider, to ensure value and better serve the memberships of the two organizations," said Charles Steinbrueck, president and CEO of PACE.

Some of the member services PACE will offer include:

- Club cars: No-cost automotive buyers' service to help members purchase new cars.

- Film developing service.

- Helpline: Toll-free, in-warehouse phone service providing contact with manufacturers' customer service representatives.

- Medi-Mail: National full-service, licensed, mail-order pharmacy filling prescriptions on a toll-free call basis.

- PACECOM: Discounted long-distance telephone service offering savings of up to 30 percent over AT&T, MCI and US Sprint rates.
