Utah Attorney General Paul Van Dam said he has hired Washington County Attorney Paul Graf as an assistant to handle child support collections in southwestern Utah. However, Graf said he is still considering the position.
Van Dam said Graf, Republican county attorney for 13 years, would remain in St. George and work closely with the local branch of Office of Recovery Services."The job was offered to him and he has accepted," said Van Dam. He met with Graf Friday in Salt Lake City to discuss his assignment and salary, which will be in the "low $50,000" range.
Graf's salary as county attorney is $45,318 a year, said County Auditor Royden Christian.
Washington County Commission Chairman Jerry Lewis said the commission has not considered a replacement.
