The process of preparing a coordinated resource management plan for the Comb Wash area begins this month with a public meeting in San Juan County.

The meeting is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at 10 a.m. at the San Juan County Library, 80 N. Main St. The purpose of the Coordinated Resource Management Plan will be explained, and a planning team is to be organized at the meeting.Written comments will be accepted through May 31 for consideration by the planning team.

The management plan will be a coordinated effort of the BLM, Manti-LaSal National Forest, Utah Division of State Lands and Forestry and the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, according to Moab District BLM manager Gene Nodine.

All resources and uses within the planning area are to be addressed in the management plan, along with proposals for protecting and enhancing vegetative, soil, watershed, recreational, wildlife and cultural resources.
