Kim Peek, the megasavant who was the inspiration for the movie "Rain Man," will be the guest speaker for the Great Strides cystic fibrosis fund-raisers Friday and Saturday, May 17 and 18.
Peek will make an appearance at the Parowan Community Theatre at 7 p.m. on May 17. There is no charge to the public, but donations to the Utah Beehive Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation are suggested.On May 18, Peek will speak in the Southern Utah University Auditorium at 1 p.m., following the Great Strides fund-raising walk, which is co-sponsored in Cedar City by the Utah Public Employees Association and SUU.
Bud Bowman, coordinator of the event, said tentative plans are also being made for Peek to appear at Pine View High School at 7 p.m. the same night.
