Nebraska junior forward Tony Farmer, declared ineligible to play next season by the NCAA, said he will apply for the NBA draft.

Farmer, who averaged 12.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game last season, said he was declared ineligible for violating an NCAA extra-benefits rule when he received a low-interest car loan. In order to be eligible for his senior season, he would have to be reinstated by the NCAA. Nebraska coach Danny Nee said Farmer decided to enter the NBA draft because he was afraid the NCAA would turn down his request for reinstatement.
