The Utah Opera Company, the Utah Opera Guild and the Ogden Opera Guild will offer lectures, luncheons and symposiums to enhance the enjoyment of Utah Opera's upcoming production of Verdi's "Falstaff" (May 18-24).
This evening at 6 the Ogden Opera Guild will entertain at the Eccles Art Center in Ogden, with general director Anne Ewers and stage director Sarah Ventura on hand to lend insights into the opera, and excerpts from the opera will be sung by guest artists. A light supper will follow the program. Admission is free to Ogden Guild members, $3 to non-members.Walter Rudolph, station manager of KBYU-FM in Provo, will give a lecture entitled "Opera's Fat Jack," in Studio 2 of the Capitol Theatre Thursday, May 9 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free to Utah Opera Guild members, who sponsor the event, $3 to others.
The Utah Opera Guild's annual membership luncheon will be Friday, May 10 at 12:15 p.m., in the Little America Hotel. Anne Ewers will attend along with guest artists from "Falstaff," to meet and sing for the audience, and ZCMI will present a fashion show of spring styles.
