Our beloved mother and grandmother, Essie Butterfield Christensen, 76, died May 4, 1991 after a prolonged illness.
She was born September 19, 1914 in Riverton, Utah to Mahonri and Hazel Bills Butterfield. She married Orin Edwin Christensen on October 4, 1945; marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death.Essie was an active member of the Cannon 4th Ward for many years. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. She will always be remembered for her genuine love and kindness to everyone. She will be missed very much by her family and friends.
Survived by son, Edwin M. Christensen, Pennsylvania; daughter, Carma J. Mangelson, Sandy; grandchildren, Kelly, Michael and Erik Christensen; Tiffany, Jeremy and Wendy Mangelson; brothers and sisters, Trussler Butterfield, Logan; Paul Butterfield, Ogden; Neil Butterfield, Logan; Ellen Walker, Colorado; Verda Lester, Brigham City; Leone Lloyd, Idaho; Edra West, Midvale; stepmother, Nellie B. Butterfield, Riverton; step-brothers and step-sisters, Paul O. Barrentt, Orem; Bernell Barrett, Salt Lake City; Joyce Thorup, Riverton; Maxine Bradshaw, Ogden; many nieces and nephews. Also preceded in death by two infant grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 7, 1991, at 12:00 noon, at the Crescent 9th Ward Chapel, 10375 South 630 East in Sandy. Friends may call Monday, from 6-8:00 p.m. at the MacKay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
