Norman George Gardner, 71, passed away Friday, May 3, 1991 at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful off a heart attack.

He was born August 17, 1919 in Cleveland, Utah, a son of George Albert and Irene Ann Johnson Gardner.He married Betty Edna Beck April 1, 1945 in Pensacola, Florida. He grew up in Huntington, Utah and has lived in Farmington since 1951. He attended Emery High School. He was a member of the LDS Church, Farmington 14th Ward. He worked at Hill Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic for 33 years. He was president of the Farmington Jaycees and was presented the Jaycee "Man of the Year" award.

He served over 30 years as a volunteer fireman with the Farmington City Fire Department and served as assistant Fire Chief.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corp.

Survived by his wife of Farmington; two sons and three daughters, Harry and Linda Gardner, Kaysville; Gary and Jackie Gardner, Salt Lake City; Carol and Ray Rasmussen, Beckie and Steve Dragon, all Roy; Darlene and Norman Robbins, Layton; 23 grandchildren.

Also surviving are five brothers and three sisters, Burke, Van Kendall, Lamond and Sharon Gardner, Gerene Jones, Ann Brinkerhoff and Shannah Lewis. He was preceded in death by his parents and three borthers.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, at the Farmington LDS Rock Chapel, 270 North Main Street. Friends may call Monday, from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main Street, and Tuesday, at the church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Interment, Farmington City Cemetery.
