Sister M. Ann Josephine Konvicka, former administrator of Holy Cross Hospital, died Aug. 27 at Saint Mary's Convent, Notre Dame, Ind.
Sister Ann Josephine was responsible for opening the first charity care health clinic in the Salt Lake area. She was a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross.She received the Distinguished Woman Award from the American Association of University Women at the University of Utah. She was a member of the Regional Medical Program and Governor's Health Advisory Council on Comprehensive Health Planning.
Sister Ann Josephine lectured at the U. and taught part-time at Saint Mary's College. She retired to Saint Mary's convent in 1987.
In recognition of her efforts, the Sisters of the Holy Cross have asked that memorial contributions be made to the Sister Ann Josephine Charity Care Fund at Holy Cross Hospital.
