In "the largest urban tree planting ever attempted in Utah," an estimated 1,000 volunteers planted 200 trees at the Salt Lake City Cemetery from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. The City Cemetery, 4th Avenue and `N' Street, was in desperate need of these trees due to the loss of 300 evergreens from age and disease during the past few years. The Greater Avenues Community Council, the Salt Lake Urban Forestry Advisory Board, Nordstrom, Origins, and TreeUtah teamed up to sponsor the event estimated to cost $20,000.
