Morgan J. Evans, who became president of First Security Corp. May 1, has been elected to the company's board of directors. The board now totals 20.
As president, Evans succeeds Robert T. Heiner, who retired April 30 after 40 years in the banking business. Evans is the sixth president in the corporation's 62-year history.Evans joined First Security in 1963 as a computer programmer. He was promoted to vice president and manager of the computer center in 1972 and in 1981 was promoted to senior vice president of First Security Service Co., which provides staff and centralized operations support to First Security's banks and other subsidiaries.
The Utah native is a Brigham Young University graduate with a degree in mathematics and also graduated from the Business Banking School of the American Bankers Association.
