Genevieve Atwood says she'll run again for political office, but vows she never again will "sell my soul to the Republican National Committee."
Atwood, who lost her 1990 congressional bid to incumbent Rep. Wayne Owens, D-Utah, told Cache Republican Women last week that she felt good about her primary campaign. But after she defeated favorite and former congressman Dan Marriott, things turned sour. The RNC and its money came in at that point.
"I hated those television ads which cost them $50,000 a week and were written, directed and produced by people over which I had no control," Atwood lamented.
"They just weren't me, and I felt our campaign suddenly became mean-spirited in nature with the focus on undermining and discrediting the opponent," she added.
