Carvel Swift Evans, age 85, died April 30, 1991 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born January 7, 1906 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Edward Andrew and Ruby Swift Evans. Married Leone Annie Haslam March 31, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; she preceded him in death Oct. 18, 1990. Active high priest in the LDS Church. Physician and internal medicine specialist. Member of the LDS Hospital staff. Past member of the Salt Lake Lions Club and Salt Lake Executives Club. Past Commander of the 328th General Hospital, US Army Reserves; served as Hospital Ship Commander in the US Army in World War II. Enjoyed square dancing and folk dancing. Enjoyed and was extensively involved in genealogical research.Survived by sons and daughter, Carvel H. (Charlotte) Evans, Salt Lake City; Robert E. (Roselind) Evans, Henderson, Nev.; S. Kent (Rosemary) Evans, Salt Lake City; Barbara L. (Carl) Bascom; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, John D. Evans, Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 4, 1991 at 1 p.m. at MacKay Deseret Mortuary Chapel, 36 East 700 South, where friends may call Friday, 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery. Funeral directors, MacKay Cottonwood Mortuary.
