A 10th-inning homerun by first baseman Chris Cooper gave Brigham Young a 6-5 victory over the University of Wyoming in Western Athletic Conference play on Thursday.

Cooper's 390-foot homerun off Jason Kummerfeldt capped a BYU rally that began in the ninth inning, when the Cougars scored three to tie the game at five. Those runs came on a two-run double by Brian Simpson and a double by John Wagner that scored Gabe Diaz.Wyoming had surged ahead in the fifth inning, going up 5-2 on a 385-foot homerun by shortstop Ron Warner and a two-run double by David LaCroix.

Brigham Young's first runs came in the first inning, when Cooper scored off Brent Brown's double to center, and the third inning when Simpson scored on an error by second baseman Grubbs.
