University of Utah ski coach Pat Miller passed out accolades Thursday during the annual ski awards luncheon.
Tops on the list were the skiers named All-America for 1991. They included: Karianne Eriksen, Venke Hatleberg, Anne Kari Aas, Oyvind Ragnhildstveit, John Ethen, Per Kaare Langlo, Loic Lemoine, Luke Bodensteiner, Jonn Farra and Ole Henrik Evensen.WAC all-conference awards were also given. They went to: Katja Lesjack, Eriksen and Heidi Dahlgren in women's alpine; Sylvie Seigneur, Hatleberg and Anne Kari Aas in women's nordic; Ragnhildstveit, Ethen, Lemoine, Langlo, Nicolas Robichon and Staale Hoegden in men's alpine; and Bodensteiner, Farra and Fred Tedborn in men's nordic.
Individual awards were also presented.
Alf Engen presented the sportsmen trophy, named after him, to Ethen; Lesjak won the C.D. Reddish Memorial Award given to the top graduating senior; Bodensteiner received the David Nouvelle Award given to the outstanding male skier; and Hatleberg was given the Toril Forland Award given to the outstanding female skier.
Miller also summarized the Utes' accomplishments this past season. These included third in the NCAA Championships, second in the conference, second in the regional finals, 15 all-conference athletes and 10 All-America skiers.
He also noted that the Ute ski team put 13 student athletes on the honor roll in winter quarter and that the cumulative grade point average of the men and women was 3.02.
