The U.S. Forest Service is ready to hold public meetings on the draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Brighton ski area.
The first meeting will be Wednesday at the State Office Auditorium behind the State Capitol Building at 7 p.m. The second will be May 15 in the Wasatch High School auditorium in Heber, also at 7 p.m.On May 18, Wasatch County and Midway City will hold a public-comment meeting at 2 p.m. at Midway Elementary, 225 S. 100 East, in Midway.
During the two USFS meetings, findings of the environmental analysis will be presented, followed by a question/answer period and a time for public input.

Brighton's master plan includes replacing one lift and adding five new lifts on current owned property. In Wasatch County, the plan calls for ski trails, two lifts, a mountain-top restaurant and a base day lodge.
