Medical nutritionists say Omega-3, a fatty acid found in fish, reduces blood cholesterol levels and the risk of heart disease. The average Atlantic salmon has 1.4 grams of Omega-3 per 3.5 ounce serving. But, according to the Norwegian Salmon Marketing Council, farm-raised Atlantic salmon have been developed with Omega-3 levels from 2.5 to 3.5 grams a serving.
