Elwood Ives Barker, age 88, died May 1, 1991 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born August 13, 1902 in Ogden, Utah to James John and Vincy Rice Stone Barker. Married A. Roberta Sleater on July 2, 1935, Salt Lake LDS Temple. Graduate of Utah State Agricultural College, Logan. Formerly managed the Regal Dry Cleaning Company. Active in LDS Church having served a Swiss-German LDS Mission (1924-1927); bishop of the 27th Ward; High Council member and stake missionary in Salt Lake and Emigration Stakes; ordinance worker for 20 years at Salt Lake and London LDS Temples; and an avid successful genealogical worker.Survived by his wife; son, Dean E. (wife, Lyn) Barker; and a daughter Ruth Ann B. (and husband, Russell) Prather; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services on Saturday, May 4, at 12 noon, 27th Ward Chapel, 4th Avenue & P Street. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Friday evening 6-8 p.m., and at the Ward on Saturday, 11-11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Ogden City Cemetery.
