Martha H. Keate, 69, died April 29, 1991, at McKay-Dee Hospital of Lung Cancer.
She was born June 26, 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Margaret Watson Havenor and H. Earl Havenor. She was the beloved wife of J. R. Keate, whom she married on November 4, 1949. She graduated from East High School and the University of Utah. She was a member of the First Unitarian Church, Salt Lake City, and Starr King Unitarian Church, Hayward, Calif.; member of American Association of University Women; Delta Delta Delta Sorority; Lybia Temple #32 Daughters of the Nile; YCC; Daughters of Utah Pioneers; Golden Spike and Beehive Gem & Mineral Clubs; Silver Squares, Hillside Ramblers, and Golden Promenaders Square Dance Clubs; East Bay Genealogical Soc., San Francisco, Calif.She was the loving mother of Kenneth E. Keate, Minneapolis, Minn.; Dr. Ray F. Keate, San Antonio, Texas; Margaret K. Landwehr, Jefferson City, Missouri; and the grandmother of six grandchildren; she is also survived by her sister, Barbara H. Darragh, Arlington, Virg.
Memorial services will be held at the First Unitarian Church, 1300 East and 600 South, Salt Lake City, Thursday, May 2, at 12 noon. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Unitarian Church, the Shriners Crippled Childrens Hospital, or the American Cancer Society.
