Michael Coats, commander of the space shuttle Discovery, couldn't wait to come down to Earth to hear more about Cincinnati Reds pitcher Rob Dibble's angry throw into the stands.
The reliever hurled a baseball into the stands at Riverfront Stadium after a poor outing Sunday. The ball hit a schoolteacher and hurt her elbow.Coats asked for details Tuesday.
"The message that came up said Rob Dibble for Cincinnati hit a fan. Was he aiming at the fan or aiming at a batter?" Coats asked Mission Control. " . . . that ought to be a really good story. Save the paper for me."
